About the event
Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic American dark comedy by Joseph Kesselring about the charming but homicidal Brewster sisters, Abby and Martha, who "take care of" lonely old men with arsenic-laced pity, much to the horror of their drama critic nephew, Mortimer. Mortimer must somehow navigate the chaos of his aunts, his wacky brother who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt, his other brother whos on the run, and his fiancée, on the night he plans to announce his engagement. The play is a farcical blend of murder and comedy, set in a Brooklyn home, and was a massive hit on Broadway and in the West End.
